🌤️ When to Go

January
Mild (19–21 °C), plenty of sunshine, and ideal for escaping the European winter. Sea around 19–20 °C, swimmable but fresh. Cooler evenings, some rain in the north. Good for hiking and peaceful stays; prices higher due to winter sun demand.
February
Similar to January — mild, sunny, still good value. Carnival season in Santa Cruz adds vibrant atmosphere but brings higher crowds and prices. Light winds possible; great month for culture and outdoor exploring.
March
Weather warming to 22–23 °C with more consistent sun and fewer winds. Sea ~19 °C. Excellent balance of comfort and value, ideal for hiking and island trips. One of the best spring months before Easter crowds.
April
Stable and beautiful — 22–25 °C days, calm sea, little rain, and manageable visitor levels. Island green from winter rains, perfect mix for both beach and exploration. Consistently one of the top-rated months.
May
Near-perfect: 23–26 °C, dry, low wind, warm sea, and fewer tourists before summer rush. Hotels cheaper, landscapes lush, excellent for swimming, sunbathing, and outdoor activities.
June
Sunny and warm (24–26 °C) with clear, **but not yet bath-warm** sea (~21–22 °C). Long days, very dry weather, ideal for beach holidays. Tourist season begins but not overcrowded — great early-summer choice.
July
Peak summer heat (≈28 °C), clear skies, minimal rain. Excellent swimming conditions but very crowded and expensive due to school holidays. Best for those seeking pure beach time and nightlife.
August
Hottest month (≈29 °C), dry, sea around 24 °C. Superb for water sports and guaranteed sun, but resorts busy and prices high. Feels intense for hiking or long day trips inland.
September
Arguably the best month — still summery (26–28 °C), sea at its warmest (~24–25 °C), evenings soft, and post-summer calm. Fewer families, great hotel rates, perfect for swimming, hiking, or wine routes.
October
Golden month: ~26 °C days, warm calm sea (~24 °C), fewer crowds, perfect light and mild evenings. Slight chance of late-autumn showers but overall superb conditions for all activities.
November
Mild and sunny (22–24 °C), sea still pleasant (~23 °C), fewer tourists, and excellent value. Occasional short rains mark start of winter season, but still ideal for outdoor trips.
December
20–22 °C, plenty of sunshine on the south coast, festive atmosphere, and good swimming on warmer days. North can be cloudy and rainy. Expensive around Christmas/New Year, but unique mix of beach and snow-capped Teide.
